EARTH MOVING
BRANCH CORPORATION (EMBC)
Introduction:
EMBC inherited a wide range of experiences from the Mechanical Division
(MD) of Ministry of irrigation. Then MD transformed to EMBC in 1975. MD starting
the earthmoving works in 1926 with the start of Sennar Dam and Gezira
Canalization. The first MD works was at Taiba pump station at 1913. Since the
there has been a continues works of excavations and desilting. In 1975 MD was
transformed to EMBC with all the assets and experience of MD. MD was established
in 1936 at Kilo 114, then transferred to MEDANI at 1949. Where EMBC is now
exists.
EMBC owns 611 excavators and draglines, 118 of them are imported after
1990. Now the EMBC owns 189 working excavators and draglines in the field. EMBC
also owns a considerable other machines like tractors, motor-graders, lowbed
trailors, cranes and workshop equipment's. Some of them are tabled
later.
Our Mission:
We work hard to improve the potentialities of work by providing the modern
equipments in the engineering field and to recruit the qualified technical
staff.
Field of work:
1- Excavation, Drains, Land leveling,
Desalting, Land clearance, Dumping and other types of excavations.
2- Maintenance of earthmoving machines, (operation & hiring).
3- Maintenance of existing projects and making of protecting ditches and banks
for villages and towns to protect them against floods.
4- Implementation of new development projects.
EMBC behind all the important national agricultural accomplishments in Sudan
with her long experience, highly skilled and well trained and expert staff.
EMBC is a pioneer engineering field, has very important national role. EMBC
protects the agricultural, the irrigated sector it brings the advanced schemes
in machinery and operates it for that purpose. EMBC made annually average of
desalting of 20 million cubic meters in the national agricultural schemes,
besides some other small works like :
1- Rehabilitations of Gash Delta.
2- Some excavation for SUDATEL CO., along Medani/Gadaref highway.
3- Rehabilitations of Nory and Gorare schemes.
4- Participating in solving the water problems in the Sudan by excavating water
points in the rural areas.
5- Expected Participation in petroleum pipe line from Higlig in west Sudan to
Port Sudan at the Red Sea. 1610 Km.
